Artham ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Artham mobile application (Android and iOS) and the website at artham.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and business name to create and manage your account.

Financial data. To provide the Service, we process the financial documents and data you provide, including:

Vendor invoices and bills (photographed, forwarded, or uploaded)
Bank statements (PDF or CSV uploads)
Invoice and payment records you create within the app
Party (customer/vendor) details such as names, GST numbers, and contact information

Device and usage data. We automatically collect device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and general usage analytics to improve the Service.

Camera and storage access. The app requests camera access to photograph bills and invoices, and storage access to upload documents. These permissions are used solely for the stated purpose.

To provide, operate, and maintain the Service — including bill extraction, bank statement matching, transaction categorisation, and dashboard reporting
To create and manage your account
To send transactional communications (e.g., payment reminders, overdue alerts)
To improve the Service, fix bugs, and develop new features

3. AI and Automated Processing

Artham uses artificial intelligence to extract data from invoices and bills, categorise transactions, match payments to invoices, and detect duplicates. All AI-processed data is derived solely from documents and information you provide. We do not use your financial data to train general-purpose AI models.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal or financial data. We may share information with:

Service providers — trusted third parties who help us operate the Service (cloud hosting, OCR processing, analytics), bound by confidentiality agreements
Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or government regulation
Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. While no system is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Financial records are retained as required by applicable tax and corporate laws (typically 8 years under Indian regulations).
